oh how I am a sucker for Dawn's colour challenges! I love them! Here's her most recent one:
What a great combo as always:) I knew as soon as I saw the chocolate that I would be busting out my chocolate chip satin ribbon. (who else is excited for the new colours for satin ribbon in SU's new mini?!!) I've also been wanting to try out the grid technique for awhile now and designed my layout around these two things. Here's what I came up with:
I was a little nervous about the yellow at first, but I'm pretty happy with how
this turned out. I used Bermuda Bay as my base and layered a paper pierced strip of Very Vanilla on top. The So Saffron piece of paper is 3" X 3" (I guess doing the grid technique is easier with a square piece of paper) and it was matted with a piece of 3.25" x 3.25" piece of chocolate chip. I sponged the edges of the So Saffron piece and played around with sponging both sides. In the end I preferred the look of the indented side more. The flowers were stamped in Bermuda Bay onto whisper white, cut out and popped up using dimensionals. They are from SU!'s For all you do stamp set. The "Welcome" sentiment is from SU!'s Warm Words and was also stamped using Bermuda Bay. Finally, I finished the card with SU!'s gorgeous chocolate chip satin ribbon (I couldn't resist).
On a side note, Jesse and I watched Julie/Julia last night. I thought it was cute and was actually pleasantly surprised (my expectations were kinda low for some reason). It also managed to hold Jesse's attention for the most part, so it was a thumbs up for both of us:) Having just recently started this blog, I was laughing throughout the movie, because I could totally relate! Isn't it wonderful when strangers comment on your blog?! It is so sweet:)
thanks for stopping by!
