Brayer Crazy!

I love what people have been doing with their brayers. Some of their backgrounds are incredible! I couldn't wait to get a brayer of my own. It finally came and with some practice (well...a lot of practice) I think I've got the hang of it. Here's a couple of cards I made recently using it:

Supplies:
-basic black, whisper white cs
-Good Morning Sunshine DSP
-twine
-crushed curry, pumpkin pie, dusty durango ink
-"Kind and Caring Thoughts" stamp set
-black embossing powder

Supplies:
-basic black, whisper white cs
-black embossing powder
-tempting turquoise, whisper white, not quite navy ink
-snowflake embossing folder
-"Wandering Words" and "Loads of Love" stamp sets from SU!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #65

Yay, for Sundays spent in my craft room!:) I got a few cards made yesterday which is good seeing as I'm hoping to sell some at the Farmer's Market this year (better get my but in gear!) The first one I made using this week's sweet sunday sketch challenge. I love these sketches, they are a great jumping point and everyone's cards are great inspiration! I knew I wanted to use my "Great Friend" Stamp set on this one and decided to make a small square card. (4.5 x 4.5)

Supplies:
-very vanilla, chocolate chip and melon mambo cs
-scalloped trim border punch
-Good Morning Sunshine DSP (currently on the clearance rack at SU!)
-very vanilla satin ribbon
-melon mambo and basic black ink

It's always nice to have generic cards on hand that can be given for any occasion:)

I stole the idea for this next card from Mary Fish. I saw her us the bird from the "Sweetheart" stamp set with buttons not too long ago and was super excited! I've been coveting other company's stamp sets that intentionally use buttons, but have never thought to look at what SU! sets could be used that way. She managed to fit three of these cute little birdies on her card (must have been bigger than the norm:) I used another sheet of the Good Morning Sunshine dsp on this one, isn't it perfect!

Supplies:
-basic gray, whisper white, melon mambo, not quite navy cs
-good morning sunshine dsp
-pretty in pink satin ribbon
-pink buttons from stash
-scalloped edge punch
-circle punches
-"Sweetheart" and "Pun Fun" stamp sets from SU!

Mojo Monday #134

Alright, I'm back on track:) I finally got a Mojo Monday card done again before the weekend:) My card is a pretty loose interpretation of this week's sketch, but I did use it for inspiration:) I've seen quite a few quilt cards out there using SU!'s top note die, and I really wanted to give it a go. I have the most christmas paper scraps, so even though it's April I made a holiday card.

I used some scraps from SU!'s "Merry Moments" DSP in order to make my quilt. Even though I didn't add any stitching I still think it looks cute:)

Supplies:
-real red, whisper white cs
-Merry Moments dsp
-snowflake punch
-snowflake embossing folder
-red satin ribbon
-real red ink
-"Delightful Decorations" from SU!

Back to Scrapbooking:)

Well, it's been a LONG time, but I've finally completed another scrapbook page. Even though 52 sketches 52 weeks is not running anymore, Julie still does a lot of sketch work for different kit clubs, etc. The link to her site is on the right hand side if you need some scrapbook inspiration;) I used this sketch of hers from awhile back and here's what I came up with. I had already done a page with my dress shopping pictures, but it was one of the first ones in my wedding book and I now hate it! So I had to do it again:)

I bought "Vintage Vogue" from SU! because I thought it would work great for both cards and scrapbooks. I loved using it on this page. I stamped the flowers with versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I think they look great, and I love being able to make my own embellishments! I also used the flourish from the stamp set with clear embossing powder for some added touches. My top note die cut came in very handy for some journalling spots on this one (now to add the journalling:) I had originally planned to add a bunch of stitching onto these pages, but after months of them sitting on my craft table half finished, I realized that if I wanted to finish them, I had to give up the stitching idea. My sewing machine will come in handy soon....I hope:)
