Ever have a card all mapped out in your head and then the final result doesn't end up being what you imagined? Well, it seems to happen to me all the time, even if I sketch out my design on paper beforehand, I can still fall into the poor execution pitfall. I dug last week's Mojo Monday sketch so much I was excited to try the challenge again this week. Plus I had seen Brenda Weaver do a couple of Embellish Magazine challenges on her blog and decided to give that a whirl too. Here's what I came up with:
I flipped the mojo sketch on its side and used the colours of pink, red and black from the embellishmagazine.com challenge. Their challenge also included using hearts as embellishments. I knew that I was going to make a valentine's day card with these two challenges and I hadn't used these birds from SU!'s The More the Merrier stamp set yet, so I was excited to get them inked up:) I think with a slightly different placement I would like this card a lot better, so I might have to try again:) I also had originally planned to watercolour the birds but the stamp was too big and I figured removing one of the birds with a baby wipe would be pretty tricky with Staz-on, so instead I coloured them in with markers.
Supplies:
-basic black, whisper white, real red, and melon mambo cs from SU!
-Razzleberry Lemonade dsp
-red foam heart
-white button
-red ribbon and twine
-melon mambo ink
-The More the Merrier and Garden Greetings stamp sets.
thanks for stopping by!
